Product overview — Potash Ore
Integrated processors building new MOP refining capacity near port request potash ore price per ton for run-of-mine sylvinite feedstock. Ore contains 12–20% K2O mixed with halite (NaCl) and insoluble clay minerals, feeding flotation and crystallization plants that produce standard MOP 60% and 62% K2O.
Direct ore export suits toll-refining arrangements where the buyer operates flotation or hot-leach crystallization at destination. Modern flotation plants achieve 80–85% K2O recovery from 14–18% K2O ore; crystallization on 18–20% ore can reach 90%+ recovery at higher capital cost.
Each 1% increase in ore K2O grade reduces energy consumption per tonne of finished MOP by approximately 3–4%. Run-of-mine ore is not suitable for direct soil application — 60–65% NaCl content would salinize fields. HS code 2529.10. From 25,000 MT vessel cargo.

Loading ports & logistics — Potash Ore
Run-of-mine sylvinite is refinery feedstock only — not for direct soil application. Contract MOQ 25,000 MT loads in bulk handymax or panamax vessels from dedicated potash mine terminals in the Baltic, Dead Sea corridor and CIS mining districts. Ore is crushed and deslimed at the mine before export, reducing insolubles to 8% max for efficient downstream flotation.
Typical voyages run to Asian and African MOP processing hubs. CFR and CIF include ocean freight to buyer-nominated discharge berths with draft suitable for handymax or panamax tonnage.
Packaging & documentation — Potash Ore
Each cargo includes analysis certificate showing K2O, NaCl, moisture and insolubles. Standard documents: commercial invoice, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Independent sampling at load port available on request.
FAQ — Potash Ore
What recovery rate should a new MOP plant expect from this ore?
Modern flotation plants achieve 80–85% K2O recovery from 14–18% K2O ore. Crystallization routes on higher-grade ore (18–20% K2O) can reach 90%+ recovery at higher capital cost.
How does ore K2O grade affect refining economics?
Each 1% increase in ore K2O grade reduces energy consumption per tonne of finished MOP by approximately 3–4%. Sourcing 18%+ ore versus 12% ore significantly improves plant margins over the mine life.
Is potash ore suitable for direct soil application?
No. Run-of-mine ore contains 60–65% NaCl which would salinize soil. Ore must be refined to MOP or SOP before agricultural use.
